Program Maintenance Updates

If you are already using the software, the links at the foot of this page allow you to download the latest 'build' of your program.  These updates correct any problems encountered by users of the software.  In addition, from time to time new features are incorporated to further enhance the flexibility of the program.  Before downloading, however, it is important that you read the following guidance notes.

• In some countries, primarily the United States and Canada, Versions 4.0 and 5.0 of the 'HAZOP' program are known as 'HAZOP Manager'.  In the latter, the term 'Node' instead of 'Table' is used in menu options and other embedded text.  However, there are other less obvious differences, mainly with regard to the installation configuration.  It is therefore important that you download the update that is targeted at the version you are using.  Note that following the release of Version 6.0, the software is now universally named HAZOP Manager.

• The latest build number is given against each update.  To check the build number of your current program, select the menu option 'Help', then 'About HAZOP etc...  In the dialog displayed the program's name and version will be shown, followed by a number in brackets.  This number in the brackets is the build number of your current software.

• An alternative method of checking your program's build number is to right click on the executable file (e.g. HAZV6.EXE) within Windows Explorer.  Select 'Properties' from the floating menu, and click on the 'Version' tab.  This will be shown in the format X.0.xx, with the 'xx' being the build number.

• The downloads are installation programs.  When run, they will update the appropriate files on your hard disk and/or your original installation diskettes.  Just copying a downloaded file to your program's installation directory will have no effect.

• The updates are targeted at standard 'HAZOP' or 'HAZOP Manager' programs.  Some companies are using versions of the software that have been specially modified to suit their particular requirements.  Those companies should not download these updates.  If in doubt as to whether this applies to you, please contact us before proceeding.

• Current users of the software will know that a security device is needed to run the program.  To further discourage others who might be tempted to download an update in the hope that they might nevertheless be somehow able to run the program, these files are encrypted and password protected.  To obtain the password, we would ask you to complete and send the form shown below.  In response, we will forward the necessary information to you.

• Finally, please do not attempt to upgrade an installation with a later Version update (e.g. do not try to apply a V6.0 update to a V5.0 installation).  It will not be successful, and will only cause unnecessary work and perhaps technical support to reinstate your installation to its previous configuration.  Should you wish to upgrade your software to the latest release, the required program pack may be purchased for a modest upgrade fee.

HAZOP Manager Version 6.0

First released in November 2003, the latest build is 24, dated July 2010.  You may view a list of the modifications incorporated by visiting the Version 6.0 Build History page.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 will not permit the DESkey drivers included in Build 16 and earlier CDs to be installed.  With these newer operating systems, all such drivers must now be digitally signed.  You may download an updated driver installation package by clicking on the link below.  Note that a password is not required to run this installation program.

If you wish to install the software on a computer running Windows Vista or Windows 7, rather than using a Build 16 or earlier CD, and then downloading and applying the Build 24 update, and additionally separately downloading the latest DESkey drivers, you may wish to use instead a complete Build 24 package . If this is the case, then e-mail LihouTech Support-Vista-7, verify that you are a registered user by including your company's name and your DESkey serial number in your message, and we will reply with a link to download an integrated installation package that will combine everything required to create a Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation.  Please note that we will not respond to individuals or companies that are not registered users.

HAZOP (Manager) V5.0 to Word Export Templates

The following modifications have been made to the template files that are used to create reports in Microsoft ® Word format.  These new files are dated March 2001, so if you have earlier versions you should consider updating your installation.  As the above heading indicates, these templates are for use with Version 5.0 of the software only.

• The templates are now common to both the HAZOP and HAZOP Manager programs.  Previously, different template files were needed for either program, primarily because of the need to differentiate between the European A4 and US Letter paper sizes.  This differentiation is now accomplished automatically.

• Changes have been incorporated to cater for those Word installations for which the comma (',') is recognised as the decimal separator (e.g. 1234,00 as opposed to 1234.00).  This was previously causing error messages to be generated when the export procedure attempted to set the document's margins, etc.

• When exporting a data file in which no keywords, hazard category, severity or frequency codes were defined, if the report also contained a page header then an error message would be generated.  This has now been corrected.

Using the link below you may download these updated template files.  A small text file containing explanatory notes is also included.  Note that as these template files are not viewable and cannot be edited, there is no need for a password, and therefore no requirement to fill in and submit the form above.

HAZOP Version 4.0

First released in April 1998, the final build was 16, dated January 2000.  You may view a list of the modifications incorporated by visiting the Version 4.0 Build History page.  Please note that this update does not apply to the 'HAZOP Manager' software.  If you are using Version 4.0 of that program, please contact us separately.
